Summer and MS: 😂

Hello, Friend! Yes, it’s been a while. I’ve been under the thumb of 5Gs of MS fatigue lately. I’ve been mostly home enjoying my usual favs: cats, hubby, birds, and flowers in our garden.

Pip, my little baking helper.
I’ve not been able to sew much because of fatigue this past month, but Pip supervised when I did.
Two of my favorite guys 😍!
Laudy is my sweet, little, blue snuggle buddy 💙
I’ve switched to safflower only seeds in the larger feeder. Neither grackles nor squirrels can or will eat it 🎉.
I also invested in a caged feeder for the premium seed mix, only small songbirds can get in. It’s been a win-win solution for both me and the birds. Only the birds I want can get the food and the bully birds now have no interest in hanging around because they can’t access it.
Doves (and Cardinals) love safflowers and can still eat spillage from under the larger feeder.
Of course, I still have a suet feeder up for woodpeckers, like this beautiful male Downy.
My Mom and Grandma always called these tickseed 💛❤️.
Purple Yarrow 💜

May God be with you! ❤️, Amy

  1. Caged feeders, what a great idea to discourage the bullies away! We have lots of kookaburras and cockatoos around as well as the odd dove, but we regularly have honey eaters and sparrows under the back area. Oh and can’t forget the little piping strike magpies that like to play with Sia!!
Mum also finds Summer the hardest season, says her body just feels like it’s made of lead if she gets hot, then takes days to settle down again. I grew yarrow in the last house in my medicinal garden. I haven’t even thought of planting a medicinal garden here yet, I will get around to it. Busy getting the vegetable raised beds in first. Pip looks to be a great supervisor keeping you sharp and alert to the task 😁
I’m currently listening to Lucille Balls biography (Love, Lucy) on Audible as I drive to and from work, it’s really the only way I read these days (which is a shame to be honest). If you enjoy biographies I’d also recommend Tina Turners, My love story. I finished that last week. Great and interesting women. Hope you’re well 💖💖 Hayley

    1. The caged feeders ARE brilliant! It took about two weeks for the birds to get the hang of it and come and go easily, but they have made it so much easier for them and on my pocketbook.
My MS has just been maniacal these past several weeks. I can handle the bladder and bowel incontinence, tripping and poor walking, and the coordination and balance problems but trying to do anything through the crushing fatigue is just nearly impossible. Never, never, never give up. God always gets me through this. I hate that your Mom knows exactly what I mean and you have come to know it vicariously through her.
I love nonfiction, especially biographies, thanks for the recommendations. I’m currently making my way through The Life of Samuel Johnson by James Boswell.
Your garden is beautiful and adding yarrow will make it even more so! Thanks for commenting, Hayley! ❤️
